Who is IGS Energy?

Founded in 1989, IGS Energy is the largest independent retail supplier of natural gas in America. IGS Energy serves more than 850,000 residential, small business, and commercial and industrial customers. IGS Energy is known for its energy expertise and its simple, clear customer solutions. IGS Energy believes that energy consumers should be able to choose their energy providers. When consumers have choices, market forces motivate competing suppliers to offer a wide variety of price and service offerings that appeal to all types of consumers. IGS Energy is continuously seeking ways to better serve our customer's energy needs and are committed to providing the best possible value. IGS Energy has a long track record of expertise in transporting gas on all major interstate pipelines. We understand how the systems operate and what precautions to take to ensure gas is always available to our customers. Recently, we have even expanded our focus to include electricity. Since our founding, IGS Energy has grown consistently at a rate of 40 percent annually with virtually no customer turnover, largely due to the fact that we always provide knowledgeable and responsive customer service and competitive energy pricing options to large commercial and industrial operations.

What is energy deregulation?

Natural gas deregulation legislation enables the natural gas market to operate on free market principles. Deregulation separates the sale of natural gas as a commodity from its distribution. The commodity is available at a competitive price and under competitive conditions, but the distribution, facilitated by the utility, is a standard regulated charge. This same thing happened with the electricity market. It is because of deregulation, that providers like IGS Energy have entered the market with competitively priced products.

What is an energy marketer?

An energy marketer, also called a supplier, is a company that acquires natural gas or electricity, either from natural gas wells, well owners, or the open market, and supplies it to end consumers. An energy marketer/supplier is not your local natural utility. Suppliers do not operate pipelines, which carry natural gas across regions, states and cities and into commercial operations. Energy suppliers simply purchase and supply energy, which is then delivered to your home or business by your utility.

Why not choose a utility to supply your energy?

You can, but by choosing an energy marketer as your supplier you may be able to save money and shield your business from volatile market price swings. As larger users of natural gas or electricity, commercial and industrial customers certainly receive the most competitive pricing. Also, IGS Energy has a long history of providing solutions that are the best fit for each individual need.

What businesses qualify as commercial and industrial customers?

The qualification rules differ by utility, but generally, for natural gas, if you use more than 1,500 MCF, 15,000 CCF or 15,000 therms (Unit terminology varies by utility), you could qualify as a commercial and industrial customer with IGS Energy. For electricity, you generally qualify if your annual consumption is greater than 50,000 kWh but less than 3,500,000 kWh. Contact us for a customized quote at 888-995-0992.

IGS Energy offers a variety of products to meet your needs. Whichever price option you choose, from one month to multiple years, you can be assured that your price will be the best value for the service provided. IGS Energy offers fixed and variable-rate options. We can also manage your price risk with a partial-fixed strategy: a strategy of buying future terms or a blend-and-extend strategy. What assistance does IGS Energy provide to identify the service that's the right fit for our needs?

An account manager will research your past consumption and work with you to find the service that makes the most sense for your operations. That same manager will then continue to work with your company over the term of your contract to make sure that your unique needs are being met. IGS Energy account managers will keep in contact with you, providing you with updated options and marketplace intelligence.

Does IGS Energy provide ongoing analysis for the energy needs of our operations?

As you are well aware, the only possible way to manage your risk in an extremely volatile market is to have a partner who will look after your best interests at all times. IGS Energy begins working for you the moment you speak with an account representative, regardless of whether or not you have a contract with us. Our goal has always been to educate our current and potential customers, so they can make smart and informed decisions for their company. IGS Energy’s proactive account management includes notifying you of dips and opportunities in the market, alerting you if prices are on the rise and providing key information to help you make informed decisions.

Will there be changes in how natural gas or electricity is delivered to our operations?

No. IGS Energy will be supplying your local utility, and your local utility will continue to deliver natural gas or electricity to your business.

What happens if there is an emergency at our operations?

Just as you always have, you should call your local natural utility, which will continue to respond to all service calls, including outages and leaks.
